more than three word answers would be nice!

Texas has a very strong archery association, try going to their website www.texasarchery.org, they have a listing of stores under businesses.

Now, first thing you need to figure out is which type of bow. If you like to get off the ground faster, compound is the bow. If you like challenge, and learning proper form, recurve is for you.

Another thing to consider is cost. Compound is usually costlier than recurve. You can get a decent cheap recurve bow for about $100, decent compounds start around $200.

First try to find a club, some clubs will let you shoot their equipment for free. Use this until you’re sure which way you want to go.
