archery shafts

im trying to get into archery and i dont have much money but know how Fletch im like trying to find an arc of at least 40 ANND 5foot im $ 6 inches what type of bow should I get and what advice can you give and ash shafts are better aluminum or carbon and poplars How I can make my own bow ??????????
Not sure where you are, but if you're in the U.S., there are certain ranges that offer free classes for beginners and free equipment after passing through this lesson for beginners. Go to www.usarchery.org and find a range in your area. If you do not have the scope to go ahead and buy / make the arc. The person above with the link to tradgang gave good advice. Alternatively, you can get a decent beginner bow for about $ 100. Aluminum arrows are the best for beginners. They are more durable than wood and has a better tolerance (more consistency). The cheapest aluminum arrows are about $ 40/dozen Easton Jazz.
