• With the exception of the giraffe, the ideal location shooting areas in all species of plains game are similar and I'll deal with the exceptions at the bottom of this article.
• With all the placement of shot through the heart and engine room area is a good idea not to use the features outside the body as reference points, because often the animal will be at an obtuse angle for you. I always try to imagine that the external surfaces of animals to be a glass case that holds the vital areas, and if you can imagine exactly where the vital areas affected and they, will not go far wrong.
• A For purposes of this article, we must begin with our target animal in a corner and when we set out in the field, one has to apply the cardinal rule of the cabinet "If the animal is at an angle different from those described here.
• With the animal standing squarely to you, divide the animal in half (horizontally) and in half again and then imagine a line perpendicular to the back of the foreleg, and perpendicular and the lower horizontal line of the Cross, is the top of the heart. Make the following queue in which leaves the body and if you get it right, the animal just collapsed. It is true that this draft is considered out of bounds with a lot of hunters British and European, but is extremely effective.

• Giraffe: These animals are different to the rest and should be borne in mind that behind all the shoulder is the stomach. The heart is in the middle third of body and according to the center of the front and top of the heart when it comes to the lower neck, leaving the body.

• Calibers and Bullets: With the exception of the giraffe, eland and kudu perhaps, a gauge of something in the region of.30 is perfectly acceptable and premium bullet expansion as a framework, Barnes X or GS Custom HV is OK. For small antelopes such as antelopes, may and consider the use of a solid or even a 12 gauge loaded with buckshot to reduce damage to the skin.
• For the larger species, .375 H & H or similar is more appropriate.
