Archery Equipment – Arrow lighted nocks
In recent years, illuminated nocks for arrows have become very popular and more reliable than they were when they reached a few years ago. I personally use in my hunting arrows so I have a better idea when I got to an animal, which gives me feedback instant about whether I made a perfect or less than perfect shot. Let's take a look at some of the various lighted nocks on the market.
Easton Archery bought tracer nocks a couple of years ago and made some improvements in a very well designed and nock. The Tracer nock is activated by a magnet that sticks to the lift platform. When the arrow is passed through the magnet nock lights for 30 seconds and then goes to a flashing mode to conserve battery life. The battery life is rated nocks for 90 hours, however, once you have a couple of hours of use you will notice that they are not so bright. This is not a great concern if you are using mainly for hunting and usually do not fire too often.
Another brand of lighted nocks is Lumenock differing magnetic tracer nocks activation. The Lumenok is the most popular lighted nock on the market and is only lit by the force of the arrow shot. The simplicity of its design and operation make it the power arrow nock of choice for many of today's most progressive archers and bow hunters professionals. The Lumenok only adds a few grains of weight to the arrow. No magnets Lumenok needed to function. Minimum arrow shaft final preparation and installation are necessary for the proper function Lumenok.
Firenock is a Most recent additions to the lighted nock market. Firenocks use what they call the "G Switch", this is the same technology as the 2nd switch arming modern missiles. (Ie, you need to feel a specific acceleration before it can be armed. This technology eliminates accidental misfire / self arm). Firenock "G" series is actually a high tech piece of equipment designs with the hunter in mind.
