foam targets archery

So I’m considering buying my own recurve bow and don’t really know what I need. I’ve got my arrows all set, and I’ve already got my foam target, I’m just referring to the actual bow.

I’m considering either purchasing that riser or this one..

However, I’m not all sure what I need after that. I’ve been to a range around 20 times, and I know I shoot at a 30 pound bow, but what does that really mean? Should I be getting a 21″ or 23″ riser? And I need a little clarity about which limbs I should purchase.

Thanks.

A 30 lb bow is the amount of poundage you have when you pull back to a full draw. There isn’t much difference between the two riser lengths. So at this point in time it really doesn’t matter much. It has more to do with draw length. I’d talk to your Archery Shop and ask there advice. I’m sure they would be glad to help you pick one out. If your going to buy on line you can always tell them your looking around and don’t want to buy just yet…you wanted to get an idea of just what the differences are.

Hope this helps. Sorry I’m not very helpful but I beleve a trip to the shop is the best thing for you.
