Birmingham history dates back to the sixth century, but today is the newest city in Europe. The second largest city largest in England, Birmingham is home to more than one million people and growing in their success.

The city has much to offer visitors seeking quiet night on the side, nightlife, amazing history and cultural activities, and is close enough to a picturesque landscape to offer the best in town and rural life.

Birmingham has been dubbed "shopping capital" of the country and more than 1,000 retailers in the center of the city alone, this title is undoubtedly deserved. There are more than a dozen shopping centers in the city, showing steady growth and the city the power to attract visitors.

History

Birmingham's history is documented from the sixth century, when a water supply, coal and iron were discovered in the area. Birmingham developed rapidly, and was regarded as one of the major manufacturing areas in England by the beginning of the Industrial Revolution.

Theaters

Of the twelve theaters Birmingham, Birmingham Hippodrome is the largest and the largest theater with regular attendance of all the theaters of London. large-scale productions, drama, comedy and dance were held regularly here.

The Alexandra Theatre is based in a stunning Victorian building, and the phases of a variety of large-scale production. The theater has been especially praised for its musicals and concerts.

Restaurants

Brasserie Blanc is one of the eleven restaurants recommended in Good Food Guide, and serves traditional French cuisine in an elegant setting for up to 160. Jessica serves French-influenced modern British dishes, and has a Michelin star and the AA recommendation.

Birmingham is famous for its curry houses and has been dubbed "the capital of Balti ', due to its wide variety of Indian Balti houses and restaurants, and a corner of downtown is known as the Triangle Balti. Al Faisals is a popular restaurant in Kashmir Balti Triangle, with seating for 600 people. Diwan Restaurant is another very popular establishment in the area.

Good Food Guide also recommends Cantonese, holding AA rosette, Chung Ying Garden. The menu consists of 400 plates, and there is capacity for 400 people.

Pubs / Bars

16 Birmingham CAMRA recommended pubs in the city, and voted Pub The Wellington 'year' in 2005 and 2006 for the 2500 selection of beers different.

The Old Inn is a fourteenth century Grade II listed pub in the list, located in the center of the city and reputed to have once been owned by King Henry VIII.

popular cocktail bars are The Living Room, with a relaxed, yet prestigious environment and live music, and the zinc bar with waitress service and an area on the ground floor of DJ.

The S'oak is a pre-club bar, offering pub tests, live acoustic and jazz evenings and all football pay per view parties. Located near the university campus, this bar is very popular among students.

Clubs

Metro City has 7 rooms, 5 bars, 3 dance floors and a snack bar, and features the best of underground dance music. The club is open seven days a week, and licensed to 08 am on Saturdays.

Air club is considered one of the gifts most technologically advanced in the country, trance, techno, hard dance and house, and regularly hosts Godskitchen. The club has three rooms, with a total capacity of 1650.

Carling Academy is the city's most successful clubs and alternative music venue, presenting music from break beats and hip-hop in Northern Soul and indie. The club welcomes Subculture on Saturday, the night of rock voted the second best in the country by Kerrang! readers.

Birmingham has a vibrant gay party scene, and The Nightingale is one of the most popular. The club is open six days a week, with a varied program of music, comedy and karaoke.

Shopping

Europe's largest development center city shopping is the Bullring in Birmingham. The center has over 150 shops and 25 restaurants on three floors. The Selfridges building is at the center, next to the medieval church of San Martin, has won an award for stunning design.

Commercial development also includes 235 market stalls and units. Other markets in the city include the Market Open Market rag, the internal market, the Antiques Market and Farmers Market.

Star City is a shopping and entertainment development, which includes a 37-screen cinema, the largest casino in the UK, a Megabowl, 3000 free parking spaces and hundreds of stores and outlets.

Sports

Forty leisure centers of the city, Wyndley Leisure Centre is the largest. The center has a 33-meter pool, teaching pool and a series of dive tables and as a running track of 400 feet, squash and badminton and much more. The center is currently closed for renovations and will reopen in June 2007.

The Ackers is a center for outdoor activities of 70 acres, offer snowboarding, climbing, canoeing and archery, along with a variety of courses and special events for companies individuals and families. Many use the center sponsored abseil.

Birmingham is home to half a dozen golf courses, managed by Birmingham Golf Link Circuit.

Harborne Church Farm is the largest, a 9 hole golf course very difficult, with a shop, cafeteria and parking for 50. Boldmere Golf Course has 18 holes, but makes it a more relaxing game. About the Author
