Big Game Fishing in the East African coast
Some of the high seas most exciting and challenging is available in the blue waters of Shimoni. But you have a better chance of catching a Striped Marlin from the Pemba Channel than anywhere else in the world. Traditionally, when the Kaskazi (north of the monsoon this) blows, the fish arrive in large numbers. Marlins

Striped Marlin:

Black Marlin:

The Blue Marlin Fishing season: – Between August and late October of big blue marlin can be found amongst the Tuna. Blue and black below, and gorge, the banks of yellowfin tuna at this time of year and generally are fatter than later in the season.
Broadbill:
Broadbill (Xiphias gladius) is known as the "Gladiator of the Sea" because of its reputation as the toughest of all billfish with an environment violent, and is considered by many to be the toughest of all billfish to catch – the ultimate challenge in fishing. Characteristically, it has a very soft broad, flat sword with (broadbill) that is significantly longer and wider than the bill of any other billfish. Has considerable big blue eyes and is a ferocious night feeder. Deep-water predators and are known to go to depths of at least 550 million. Are finicky, easily frightened and rarely strike blindly. The Pemba Channel is perhaps one of the top destinations for Broadbill fishing. Broadbill fishing takes place at night.
Broadbill Fishing Season: – All year better, but in October, November and March when the sea is very tranquil. December, before the wind turns to the northeast also can be a time Broadbill excellent fishing.
Sailfish:
The Sailfish is one of the most colorful game fish of all – its outstanding feature the dorsal length, height first, which is slate or cobalt blue with a scattering of black spots. His body is dark blue and silver and illuminated with white dots and lines electric blue. It is a very acrobatic fish and dive faster than needle size and its surroundings. It is a migratory species that travel usually alone or in small groups. Is the ability to fight and spectacular aerial acrobatics endear the sailfish to the saltwater angler, but tires quickly and considered a light in front of the species.
Sailfish Fishing season: – Is seen and captured throughout the fishing season but most prolific during December and January.
Spearfish Spearfish:

It is a deep-water species are highly migratory feeding on the surface or near the average size fish, including Dorado, Flying Fish and Fisheries pilot squid and crustaceans. They seem to be available all year in small numbers.
Spearfish Spearfish Fishing Season – Mid November end of March to December is the best month.
Tuna:
Since August we begin to see a large number of migration of yellowfin Tuna are one of the strongest fish that swim and may give the uphill battle. They regularly travel overseas. Tuna school primarily by the size and 12 – 20 pounds is ideal equipment for schools of small Tuna that run in the season, providing good sport to meet enthusiastic light. Tiburón Tigre:
Born in a size 50 to 75 centimeters long with a beautiful pattern of silvery spots like a leopard, changes to the bars as they grow and fade as they mature. The head is large and blocky with large expressive eyes. Tiger sharks mature become very robust. Can be resident in certain areas, but in general are homeless. They tend to stay in deeper water during the day and into shallow waters at night.
Mako Shark:
Mako sharks are torpedo-shaped and are the kings of the speed of cartilaginous fish and possibly the fastest fish in the ocean – measurements of up to 100 km / h (60 mph) have been reported. When connected you can jump to a height of several body lengths out of the water. Are capable to pursue and consume fast moving pelagics such as tuna and Broadbill. Their ability to achieve such phenomenal speeds can be attributed to a blood vessel system heat exchange, allowing them to maintain body temperature
