The three facets of the Martial Arts you may not know
Introduction to the Martial Arts, Part 1
Martial arts term can be defined as a fighting art that combines the encoding control techniques with the philosophy, strategy and cultural traditions. A martial art can be offensive to an art of combat or an art of self-defense defense. It can also be practiced to promote health and fitness as a means of personal and spiritual development, and as a form of sport or entertainment. Martial arts can be performed with or without weapons.
Martial arts styles
There are many different styles of martial art practiced around the world. In general, however, can be categorized into three types: traditional martial arts, martial arts based on the sport and martial arts weapons-based.

Ancient art, modern myths
Fight against humanity and the need to dominate and defend is as old as life itself. Our ancestors survival instincts undoubtedly sowed the seeds for the development of martial arts. Greco-Roman wrestling and fencing, for example, appears in the first modern Games in 1896, while the western archery, boxing, judo and tae kwon do made its inaugural appearance in 1900, 1904, 1964 and 2000, respectively. The Asian Games may add karate and wushu to the list of martial arts practiced at the highest level.
